On my wifes computer the desktop will revert back to the login page if
left for a while. On mine, the only time I am ever prompted to enter my
password is when booting.

Can anyone tell me how I can have my own computer revert back to the
login screen when I leave it to go out. I have company files on here
that I would like to protect.

TIA

Hi Paul,

Click on Start - Control Panel - Power Options - Advanced.
Check the box next to "prompt for password when computer
resumes from standby."

Hi Paul,

It could also be that the system is going into screen saver.

Prompt for password when resuming from Screen Saver:
Right click on the desktop and select Properties - Screen Saver tab and
put a check next to "On resume, password protect to be prompted for a
password, or remove the check to not be bothered with a password.

Yeh or on the desktop,

Right-Click,
Select propities,
Select 'Screen Saver'
Select your screen saver
Tick the 'On resume, display welcome screen'
Click on 'Apply'
Then 'OK' then the red cross...

Right click a blank area of the Desktop | Properties | Screen Saver | On

And/or Control Panel | Power Options [or Control Panel | Performance
and Maintenance | Power Options] Advanced | Prompt for password when...
