I tried changing a Limited User to a Standard User (Power
Users Group)using Control Userpasswords2. I got some
error, and the account simply vanished: it is not listed
in the User Accounts control panel, nor on the log-on
screen. At least I need to retrieve the data that belongs
to the lost user.

Can anybody help me?

Umm yea click on the following on the desktop
My computer
local disk c
documents and settings
"USER NAME"
see if its there if its not it might be hidden and if
u need help to unhide it e-mail me at
(e-mail address removed)

Open a cmd prompt and enter
net localgroup users account /add
except replace "account" with the actual
name of the account that no longer shows.
