User Login Screen Removal

When I first got this 'puter, there was no user login screen, it just loaded
into windows xp.. Later I put on another user and have deleted it since.
Now I only have the administrator user, but it still goes to the login
screen anyways. Is there a way I can remove the login screen so when I turn
my 'puter on it will go right to desktop again?
I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

If you type "control userpasswords2" into the run command you can remove the
setting "users must use a password to logon"

Bypass The Windows XP Log On Screen
To make logon an unattended process:

Click [Start] [Run] and type
control userpasswords2
Click [OK]
The [User Accounts] Property Sheet displays.
On [Users] tab, clear the [Users must enter a user name and password to use
this computer] check box.
Click [Apply].
Enter a user name and password that should be used to logon automatically in
the dialog box that appears.
Click [OK].
Go to [Control Panel] [User Accounts] [Change the Way Users Log On and Off].
Uncheck [Use the Welcome Screen] and [Use Fast User Switching]

I have exactly the same problem and have tried various options to get back
to simplicity, all without success, e.g. Start/Run/"control userpasswords2"
deleting "Asp.net account" Start/Control panel/user accounts etc.
If you manage to solve your identical problem I would much appreciate ypour
feedback!
