User folders changed after upgrading

I upgraded my computer and transferred my files using the settings and file
transfer wizard. I also upgraded from XP Home to XP pro.

Upon looking into Documents and Setting following the upgrade, I see a few
things I would like to resolve.

1) Old user folders such as "User1" have new folders such as
"computername.User1". Why did this happen and how can I colsolidate the
folder contents with the old User1 folder?

2) While I'm on the topic, How can I move the documents and settings folder
to another drive? I like to keep my user data on a drive separate from my
software installations. That way I just back up the user drive.

3) And finally... I see, for example, an outlook folder under documents and
settings, application date, microsoft and another under documents and
settings, local
settings, application data, microsoft. What caused this and which one is
the desired location in the current configuration?

Thanks in advance for you assistance...

This may happen during upgradings. You can delete the old USER1 folder
from the Safe Mode and then create a new user. Copy the profile from
COMPUTERNAME.USER1 to the new user and then delete the
COMPUTERNAME.USER1 profile as well.
