a user deleted his username.pst file thinking he'd free up some space (which
he very well did) with the thinking that he had an archive.pst with the same
date, only larger.

He found out this morning that it wasnt a smart thing to do, since his
archive.pst didnt have all of his data/emails.

I have removed his HDD and installed it as a slave in an XP system.
his specs, XP Pro, Office 2003 Pro, mail delivery to his Personal Folder.
my specs XP Pro
exchange 5.5, NT4

I have tried a program called Final Recovery to no desired result. Ive also
tried RecoverMyFiles v3.30 and only recovered 2 psts, one 25KB and hte other
2KB.

Needless to say neither are his as his was over 1 GB.

Any suggestions on a plan of action to recover this data?

TIA

If the data is that important, you can pay a data recovery company to try to
recover it, if an undelete tool such as you've tried didn't work.

I am not sure that posting such an issue to an outlook forum will give you
good feedback. You may want to try Windows and look at the operating system
forums since this involves the Windows File System and not Outlook itself.
Good Luck
