User Defined Passwords

When you put your files in a subweb for limited access...is there a way the user can define his own user ID and password? Or is there an automatic way to have them enter basic information send it and get an autoreply with a password?
 
Not via any FP or server provided function. You would have to use a server-side scripting language
such as ASP, PHP, etc. and a database to accomplish this.
