User can not access a server folder

Hi

I hope that someone out there can help with a problem on a Windows 2003 SBS.

The server has a folder called 'work folder' and again inside that there is
a further folder called '1st group documents' all users can access this
level of folder.

There is then a further folder again called '1st group documents' that all
users except the sales user can access. When this user tries they get an
error 'e:\work folder\1st group documents\1st group documents is not
accessible Access is denied'.

On the face of it, it seems a simple matter giving permission, but nothing I
have tried will give the correct permissions to this one user.

The first level of 1st group documents is shared but the lower one is not
but other users can still access it.

At this point any suggestions would be greatly received.

Have you checked the "share" permissions?

Hi Candie

I have looked at this problem several times while on site and not been able
to fix it, hence the post but I have just sat down with a piece of paper and
compared every folder and every permission for all of the folders and
eventually found a permission that was not set for this 1 user.

It now appears to work OK and thanks for the reply !

Cheers
