user accounts

When I switch on pc and it shows the page with all user accounts, mine is
password protected but when i place the mouse over it it says I have an email
at a hotmail address i have checked and there is no email but i cant get rid
of this any ideas?

Assuming you're using XP, download TweakUI from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Run TweakUI, go to Logon > Unread mail and change as desired.
