Hi there !

Maybe you can help me with the following task?

I have two computers running xp (one media center and the other pro). I have
a small homenetwork with shared disks and i am going to switch from easy file
sharing to the more advanced file sharing.

Is it possible to make a user account but without it beeing visible in the
logon procedure? Is it even possible to manage that windows does not make a
profile folder on c:\documents and settings\ ?

Also i would like to give that account administrator rights. It's my wife,
so I have to. Whether i like it or not? But don't tell that to her please.

Haha,

I believe you can 'Hide' a user account using Windows XP Tweak UI, under the
Logon branch.

1. Open Tweak UI
2. Click on Logon
3. Check/Uncheck account to Show/Hide

Don't know if that prevents you from logging in. You can try this by:

1. Reboot
2. At Welcome Screen, enter CTRL+ALT+DEL+DEL
3. Enter login name you hid.
4. Enter password if needed

As far as not having Documents and Settings file, no. If you add a User
Account, the information for that user in the registry is added to
C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME] registry file ntuser.dat.

However, you can hide the account, and also lock-down the account so that
nothing appears when the user logs in. I have Admin accounts that when
logged in, cannot see or access anything.
