Your son deleted what? If he deleted your user account and during that
process said "yes" to the "delete user files" question, then your files
are gone. You could possibly get them back with data recovery software
if you do nothing further on the machine.

To see if your files are still there, make sure you can see all hidden
files per:

Make sure you are able to see all hidden files and extensions (View tab
in Folder Options). In XP, there are four checkboxes to deal with:

a. Check "Display the contents of system folders".
b. Check "Show hidden files and folders".
c. Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".
d. Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and click "OK" to the
dialog box.

Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\ and open it. See if your old user
files are there. If they are, you can create a new user account and
copy the data to it. You may need to take ownership of the files.

I know what I would do to my child if he pulled a stunt like that.

And just to teach the kid...........change your and his password so he
cannot access the system without you!!!!!!!!!!
And be sure you make him only a Limited USER without administrative
privileges then he will not be able to do this again.

In conjunction with that, make sure the built-in Administrator account has a
VERY strong password on it.....
