Developers of programs have the ability to make it "install to this user" or
"install for all users". Essentially it's only changing where it puts
shortcuts and registry information.
If you have the option during install, fantastic. If not, the program will
likely be available to all users unless you use steps in the posts above this
one. Mainly, just remove the shortcuts to the program from these areas:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\
and
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
Then make your own shortcuts here:
C:\Documents and Settings\*your name*\Desktop\
Then use the security options discussed earlier (requiring XP professional
edition) to remove access to the Program Files\app-name folder from other
users, leaving your account with access.
