WHEN I CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT IT'S AUTOMATICALLY ASSIGNED A PASSWORD.
THEN WHEN I TRY TO LOGON TO THAT ACCOUNT THE SIGN IN SCREEN IS ASKING ME FOR
THE OLD PASSWORD TO CHANGE THE PASSWORD. WHICH I DON'T KNOW BECAUSE IT WAS
AUTO ASSIGNED. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

Don't post in caps--it's considered rude.

When you create a new user account in Windows XP it is *not* automatically assigned a password.

If your user accounts are automatically assigned a password, one of two things has happened:

1. Your system administrator at work has setup some group policy to automatically generate a password. If this is the case, ask your system administrator.

2. Your computer is infected with a virus or some other type of malware.

I didn't know about the caps.
thanks.
I am the sole user on this computer, home, single user. I've tried to check
all the security policies in effect, however, there's alot there. Thanks
anyway.
