User Accounts issue

J

John Whyte

When I try, as 'administrator', to change the way a user
logs on - through Control Panel and User Accounts - I
amessage appears telling me that a recently installed
installed progamme has disabled the Welcome Screen and
Fast User Switching. It identifies a file 'ginamsi.dll'
which sits within Windows/System 32 and carries a 2001
date.
I have installed SP2 and subsequently 2 downloaded
programs.

I prefer to have to enter password on powereing up and
would be grateful for any advice.

This file is installed by MSI Lockbox, a program MSI supplies on a CD with
their motherboards.
It has installed an alternative GINA, (Graphical Identification and
Authentication) which is why you get the behaviour your seeing.
Uninstall the program and it should fix it.
