User accounts in control panel

What purpose does adding a user (computer is xp sp2 and member of a domain),
in control panel to say power users etc.. For instance they already can log
onto the domain, however then you can go to user accounts> add> type the
user name> and add the domain. Then you can make them a member of
choice(power user, admin, debug etc..).

If this is simply YOUR comptuer -- then the purpose would be to create TWO
accounts. The first is the Administrator account -- which can install
programs, and do ANYTHING on the computer. You then "can" create YOUR account
that would be a PowerUser (Limited Admin) -- this way you are running an
account that can not mistakenly do "damage" (either due to error or
spyware/virus)

If there are multiple people using this computer -- each user would be setup
for each person (they don't need admin rights so they get poweruser).

In either case -- you login as Admin to do Admin functions.. . .that said
there are still some older DOS/Windows program that simply will NOT run
unless they have full-access to your Windows.
