Jarod

I just reinstalled XP and previously the blue user account screen showed
after booting which allowed one to select the user they wish to sign in
as. For some reason, this option is not available unless I log off the
default user. The "Welcome Screen" and "Fast Switching" is enabled.
How do I have the user list appear after booting?

Thanks

Hi Jarod,

It appears that Windows is automatically logging on to a user account. If
you have only one user account, set a password for the account. OTOH, if
you've configured XP to automatically login, undo that setting. Follow these
steps:

Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type control
userpasswords2, and then click OK. In the dialog box that appears, enable
Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer check box,
and then click OK.

Thanks Ramesh! That worked. I can't remember enabling that feature.
Oh well, I know what to do next time. Much appreciated.

Sam
