User switching problems

When I try to switch users the screen returns to the welcome screen. When I
select a different user and try to log on the screen goes blue and then
returns to the welcome screen. I can only log onto the user that I was
trying to switch from. I can change users if I log off and then log into a
different user. But I used to be able to switch users. The problem started
right after a spyware/trojan attack that I believe I have successfully
cleaned up. Perhaps the attack or the cleanup have caused the problem?

That's a possibility. Try a System Restore and see if it helps.
