I am trying to set up a separate user account with restrictions to programs
and internet content for visiting grandkids. I can restrict the internet
easily with the OneCare Family Safety application, but when I creat a
separate user account for them to log onto in Windows XP, any changes that I
make on their account (like deleting icons so they can't easily use
applications) changes the icons in my parents' user account as well. The
problem is that my parents' use Yahoo as their browser (and no, I can't
convince them to change) and OneCare only restricts access to websites via
IE, not through Yahoo's browser. My thinking was that if I deleted the icons
for Yahoo's browser so that they could not use it, then they would be forced
to go through IE. As a result, their internet activities would be
restricted. I was trying to create the separate grandkids user account in XP
so that my parents' desktop was unaffected by what I was creating for the
grandkids, but for some reason that is not the case. Any suggestions would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
