How can I ignore someone spamming a newsgroup who seems to be using some
sort of automated software to change his name in every message, apart from
the domain name. IE.

(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)

etc.

Using Windows MCE2005 but I'm willing to change from outlook express if
there's something with better newsgroup spam filtering.

Hi Rex,

I took this from Help in OE.

To block messages from a sender or domain

You can block messages from a particular sender or domain. The domain is
the name following the @ symbol in an e-mail address.

When you block a sender or domain, no e-mail or news message from that
sender or domain will arrive in your Inbox or in the news messages you
read. E-mail from blocked senders goes directly into your Delete folder.
Newsgroup messages from blocked senders are not displayed.

From your e-mail Inbox or the list of messages in a newsgroup, select a
message from a sender you want to block.
On the Message menu, click Block Sender.
Notes

Blocking a sender applies to standard POP e-mail only. It does not apply
to HTTP e-mail or IMAP messages.
To remove a sender or domain from the Blocked Senders list, on the Tools
menu, point to Message Rules, and then click Blocked Senders List.
Select the sender or domain, and then click Remove.

That does nothing but block the full email address which is pretty useless
when someone is using software to automate a new name every message. I
would just like to block everything that comes after the @ i.e.. every
email address with aol.com in it etc.

Thanks for your time anyway :)

Hi Rex,

Go to Tools - Message rules - Block Sender List - Add then enter
@domainname.com and select News or Mail and News messages and press OK,
to block anything sent from that domain to you.

Top Class!!! Thank You Bert.

It's simple string searching. enter com and ALL com mail would be blocked. But so would (e-mail address removed). So one would enter .com. But some email has names like (e-mail address removed).

So if you enter just the domain name all mail that contains that string, including that domain, will be blocked. So for safety sake try to be as specific as possible.

If you are following the instructions from help literally realise you need to edit the email it's adding automatically for you to what you want.

I didn't realize that David.

In the example @homeaolot.com would home.com, lot.com and aol.com be
blocked also?
