Used Nikon Coolscan III versus New Konica Minolta DiMAGE Scan Dual IV

I'm on a tight budget and have roughly $200 to spend on a film scanner.

I've been trying for months to get a decent used Coolscan on Ebay, but
they keep getting bid up out of reason.

I can get a used Coolscan III on Ebay for around $200. But for the same
price, I can get a new DiMAGE Scan Dual IV.

Is a used Coolscan III better than a new DiMAGE IV? I know the Nikon is
better, but is it that much better?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I don't know about the Cooscan 3, but I had the use of a Coolscan 4
for some time, and was so un-impressed with it, that I bought a Minolta
5400. The results from the Minolta, the scan speed, and the never sticking
transport, are miles better than the Coolscan 4. My inclination would be
for the Minolta.

I should add that I have been using Nikon Cameras and lenses for 25 years,
and have added a D70 this year.
