used autoruns.exe, now I lost my cd and dvd writers

I installed and ran autoruns.exe and ccleaner. My computer runs faster, but
now I don't have either my cdrw or dvdrw. I see them in Device Manager with
the yellow exlamation point. It says "a driver (service) for this device has
been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code
32) Tried to update driver, uninstalled drives, and ran New Hardware manager,
and still nothing.
Please help?!?! What do I do now?
Thanks.

System Restore to a point/date before you ran Crap Cleaner
and Autoruns. You've likely broken the links to Upper/Lower
Filter drivers for the optical drive.

Thanks for answering so quickly, R. I did that also, and I wasn't able to restore to any point. I had 7 available, and all of them said "not able to restore to this point. " Is that a problem with my XP? I have to go to work now, so I'll check back later tonight.
Thanks so much for being available.

May be you disabled cdrom.sys and other drivers using the Autoruns (Drivers tab) utility?

CD repair for XP:

Also try the following. You should back up the registry before making
changes:

Click Start, Run, type Regedit, click OK.
Locate this Registry Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class
Key Name: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Value Data: [Delete All Value Data from UpperFilters and LowerFilters]
Note: Do not delete the Key or the Multi-String Values. Delete only the
data values.
Exit Registry and Reboot
