Use PCL5c or PCL6 Drivers for HP 4500N Printers?

I many cases, it doesn't matter. There may be some cases where the PCL 6
driver supports (uses) some feature on the printer that the PCL 5 or 5e
driver doesn't.

I suggest using the PCL 6 driver for a printer if there is one for the
printer and OS you have.

Where it matters most is in networked situations where there is more than
one OS involved. Then, it is very important to have "compatible" drivers on
all the variuos computers involve, which normally means using all PCL 5 or
all PCL6 drivers for a particular printer model. See

You will probably find PCL6 a little faster and the print files a little
smaller.
