No, that's not what he needs. He specifically said in the OP not Internet
Phone. He just needs a telephone dialer for his modem and a Data/Fax/Voice
(telephony) modem.

Most modems come with everything you need (minus the microphone).

is it possible to use the sound card and microphone as a telephone?
i DON"T mean an internet phone or a pc-to-phone.
i want to use the modem and the regular phone line that my pc is connected
to and to speak into the microphone, hear the other person from the speakers
and be able to answer phone calls with the computer.
is there a third party free app that can do that?
