Use Laptop TFT as dual monitor for desktop computer

Hello!

is there any way to use my Thinkpad laptop's tft screen as an
additional monitor for my desktop pc? Just like a dual monitor setup
but without the need to purchase a 2nd vga card and an extra monitor? I
would rather like to use the perfect laptop display while working on my
desktop box at home.

Actually this would require a VGA video input but afaik this is not
available. Perhaps there is a software solution? VNC can transmit
desktop contents via LAN but is no help here. I would need an extended
screen...

Any help would be fine.

PS: Both computers are running XP will all available service packs

The VGA ports on most laptops are OUTPUT only! They only would send the VGA
signals out to a monitor. The only "true" way you can get this to work,
without being an electronic engineer in disassembling the laptop, is the
mentioned "MaxiVista".
