Hi
I have 3 PC's that are already Share a internet connection running XP
Pro. One of the PC's has an accounts program called TAS Books
installed. We want one of the other PC's to run TAS Books as well so
that 2 people can work on the program at the same time. Will it be
easier to buy a server? Would i need to install Windows server 2003?
If so what PC's would need windows server on? Or can i use the third
PC as the server?
Thanks in advance
Glenn

You can accesss data across the PCs - however to run the originating
program, TAS Books, it must be installed on all three PCs. Windows Server
can be installed on any PC and "setup" as an "Application Server".

Usin TAS Books on an aplication server would probably require license
modification.

Considering cost of a server OS nd it's probale loss as a workstation, it
may be easier and cheaper to purchase installation "rights' and install on
the three PCs.

Hi
Thanks for replying.
I have now got a server and Microsoft Server 2003.
I only need TAS Books on 2 of the PC's. I have been told by TAS Support
that i must not install on the server and only install on the two PC's.
I haven't got a clue how to set this up.
Have you any information you can give me please.
Regards
Glenn
