USB2 PCI Card conflicting with my AGP Video Card

I recently switched to Roadrunner (cable modem) and upgraded from
Win98 to XP. I purchased a USB 2.0 pci card to upgrade to get the most
(speed) from Roadrunner and when I plugged in the card and restarted
the computer, my monitor(AGP card) will not work @ all. I went into
setup and disabled the USB1(onboard) on my motherboard and that didnt
work either. HELP!!!!

Try the USB card in a different PCI slot.

I doubt that there is a conflict. But, you "were" inside the box. What did
you inadvertently knock loose or unseat? Remove every plug in card and
reseat same (into the same slot please). Remove every cable (one at a time
please) and reconnect same. Turn on the computer and try again.

Instead of using the USB connection for RoadRunner why don't you just get as network card and use
that connection. Much less of a hassle than the USB.

Plug your PCI card into any slot but the first or last PCI
port.

I have digital phone and digital cable...the way they had me hook up
my internet access was thru a usb port in the back of the modem for
the digital phone...how would I use a network card..forgive my
ignorance here..

Most cable/DSL modems use an RJ45 connector and a CAT5 cable
(looks like a heavy-duty telephone wire) and connects to the
network card or port on the back of the computer. Using USB
to do this networking is less efficient than using the
network NIC, which most modern computers include on the
motherboard.

Your cable into your house can and should go through a
splitter with a branch going to the television and the
telephone and one branch going to the cable modem.

There should be a RJ-45 connection next to the USB connector on the cable modem. Just run a
standard network cable from that to your NIC card in computer.
