USB2.0-support at Windows XP SP2 with Asus A7N8X-X

Hi there...

I have an ASUS A7N8X-X mainboard and changed my operating system from
Windows 2000 to Windows XP SP2.
Since I did this, I always get a message that I could get better
performance by using an USB 2.0-port instead of an 1.1-port when
plugging in an USB-device (especially my USB-stick).
Obviously my WinXP doesn't support USB 2.0 although it's already SP2

The Device-Manager lists an "standard enhanced PCI-to-USB universal
hostcontroller", two "standard OpenHCD USB-hostcontroller", three
USB-root-hubs and one "standard USB-hub" (I translated the names from
german, so I don't know the exakt english names).

The BIOS is set to support USB1.1+2.0.

Can anybody help me to get USB 2.0 running?

Thanks,
Stefan

Only things that come to mind are
1. Check if Asus has any driver updates related to USB for your board,
and
2. Disconnect all USB devices and then uninstall your USB entries in
Device Manager and reboot. Perhaps Windows will get it right this time.

I tried this, but nothing changes.
I use an USB-Hub and by swapping devices connecting direct and via Hub I
learned, that devices, connected via Hub, can only use USB 1.x and directly
connected devices use USB 2.0.

I contacted the manufacturer of the Hub asking for help...

CU+thx,
Stefan
