USB WON'T READ THUMB DRIVE

I've got windows VISTA. All was well till 1 Feb 08. Put my camera card in
the xd slot and it said "Microsoft Windows You need to format the disk in
drive F: before you can use it. Do you want to format it? (Format disk)
(Cancel)". I tried to format it and it wouldn't do it. Then I discovered it
was saying the same thing when I put in a thumb drive! I've checked
everything and it says the device is working properly but IT ISN'T. Mouse
receiver (USB) is working. HotSync (USB) to my phone is working.

I am having the same problem....no USB memory will work and neither will
my memory sticks.....always told that the disk needs to be formatted,
although they all work in XP computer and digital camera. Did you ever
get this resolved?
