USB trouble

'One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and
windows does not recognize it.' This is what my computer says everytime I try
and plug something in. It doesn't matter what I plug in either. My printer
used to work fine, but now its saying that-- because it plugs in through a
USB port. It says the same thing when I try to plug in a thumb drive. Can
anyone help me?
 
do you have another port you can try? Look on the back of the tower if the
one you have is on the front
