USB to serial adapter

I have tried 2 adapters and both are saying I don't have the driver to
support these. They came with no set up disc and I have been to both
manufacture sites to get drivers but didn't help. I am running SPK3 and I
guess I have 2 questions, 1 do I have do save the driver in a certain folder,
or do anything with the driver after downloaded and 2 is there anything else
I should look for to get these adapters working.

I have done that several times and it still can't find the right driver, I
have even tried uninstall reboot and update again, still nothing.

I bought one of these. It came with a driver disk, but my XP system
couldn't find anything on the disk that matched the device. I found out
what the underlying device was, and downloaded the drivers from the
manufacturers website, but it worked only every third reboot. I got my
money back.
I asked around if you could get these things from reputable
manufacturers, but it seems that none of these can compete with the cost
of the useless products. Isn't Capitalism wonderful?

I was told a Belkin one would work but you looking at $60.00 for an adapter
which is robbery, but I read on different sites and people have them working,
some came their own discs and others didn't, so to me there has to be a way.

I bought an identical lead (AU$15.00) for my new mobo which has no PS/2
ports. No software came with it, but it worked the mouse and keyboard as
soon
as I connected the leads and booted up. I have XP Home/SP3. Your lead
*should" work also. Can't figure out why not...

Jim.

I would think it should work too, with all the software and programs it should be just a matter of plugging in and maybe reboot to read it. Also what I think is funny is that I have been trying, reading and posting different areas for 2 weeks and nobody can help.
