Usb root hub, how much power per hub can i use ??

Just is this is confusing me, as i have my USB built in, and ive got a
USB card connected to my USB1 or USB2 connector on my mobo,on a Abit
NF7-S 2.0.

In my hardware settings say my second USB root hub, says i have, and i
quote -

D-link DSL 200 USB ADSL Modem(Wan) 500 mA
Generic USB HUB (4 ports) 0 mA
MicroSoft Sidewinder Force FeedBack 2 100 mA. this is the one
connected to the usb card on usb01 or 02 :)

Is this OK as this is confusing me, you only get 500 mA per port, is a
port the same as a hub ?, on my old mobo is was easy to see how much
you had on each port ?

Thanks for any help to get me to understand this.

Thanks.

A bus powered hub (no powerpack) can only use the total 500mA that it gets
from it's parent port. A self powered hub (with powerpack) should provide
500mA to each port.

Yea, it's fine. Any USB ports coming directly off your computer (either at
the I/O shield or from an add-on card) can supply the full 500mA to each
port.

I have not noticed any problems with my Adsl modem or anything :),
just checking.

Just onl my old board they were grouped different, not together, as
they are not pluged into the same place, on on a card and the other on
the intergrated mobo, just confused to see them grouped together :)
