USB Question

Hey everyone, I just have a question about USB...

Current Config:

Motherboard with 2 front USB 1.1 Ports


If I bought a motherboard with USB 2.0 and used the same physical ports,
would it run at USB 1 or 2?

Normally the usb ports are on the motherboard and all that is on the front
of the computer is wires and connecotrs. Not sure what you mean by "samd
physical ports" unless it is the connectors on the front.
They should run at whatever they are plugged into on the motherboard.

It will "try" to run USB2. If the cables are adequate it'll work, but
if it uses old ribbon-type cables, they aren't meant for USB2, may be
too noisey and need be replaced.

However, whether it runs as USB2 also depends on what you plug into
it... plug a USB1 device in and the 2nd "physical port" will also run
in USB1 mode, it drops down to USB1 because of the first USB1 device.
