USB Problems with All-in-one and camera

I an running WinXP Home SP2.

I have a HP PSC2353 and Canon digicam. Both connevt via USB cables and
worked fine. Now the scanner has an error saying there is a problem with the
scanning device and the Canon software says the camera is not connected.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software; checked for updates and
deleted the USB devices and let Windows re-instal them. Still no luck.

Any suggestions on what to try next?
