usb problem

I have problem connecting digicam, scanner or network
walkman via usb port.

the pc recognizes them but the it says the are not
installed properly so they wont function.

is there an update/patch for this kind of problem?

Windows update SP1 fixes many USB problems. Get SP1, then
use device manager to remove all USB ports, hubs and
devices, this will cause redetection and new drivers for all
USB when you reboot. Then install each device according to
the manufacturers' instructions.
In general, install any software BEFORE you connect the
device. That way the device is detected and the correct
software is installed.

walkman via usb port.

All USB devices require that you read the docs and install EXACTLY as
the docs say to. In other words, connecting a USB device and then hoping
for the best may not work and cause you 50 hours of wasted time.

eg. often, USB devices REQUIRE that you first install the drivers. Then
reboot, then power on the device, then connect it to the PC. Do it NOT
according to the docs, and you are in for the ride you are experiencing.
Ofen, you totally screw up your system.
