USB PROBLEM CODE 38

I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY USB PORTS. WHEN I TRY TO
CONNECT MEMORY STICK IT WILL GIVE ME A RECOGNITION SOUND BUT I CAN'T FIND IT
ANYWHERE. WHEN I PLUG IN MY DVD BURNER IT SHOWS UP IN DEVICE MANAGER AS USB
MASS STORAGE WITH A YELLOW EXCLAMATION POINT NEXT TO IT. WHEN I TROUBLE
SHOOT THE DRIVER IT GIVES ME CODE 38 (Windows cannot load the device driver
for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still
in memory. (Code 38)
FOR SOME REASON THOUGH MY PRINTER WORKS FINE IN THE SAME PORTS.
I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP. I AM NOT THE MOST COMPUTER LITERATE.

I had a problem similar once. Your best bet is to go into Device
Manager and uninstall the device and/or it's driver. Reboot and
reinstall the driver.

Do you have usb connected keyboard - is it being effected by your problem -
you started in caps then caps off and back to caps.
If it is not causing a prob. with the keybord, please post with caps lock
off.
It does not help old eyes to read your post - plus it is considered as
shouting.
Some will ignore a post in caps.

MY DVD BURNER STARTED WORKING BUT MEMORY STICK STILL DOESN'T.

Sorry, the keyboard works fine.

you started in caps then caps off and back to caps.
If it is not causing a prob. with the keybord, please post with caps lock
off.
It does not help old eyes to read your post - plus it is considered as
shouting.

Go to de manufactury website en download de last driver.

Do a Rolback of old driver en install the new one.

go back into device manager and UNINSTALL each of the USB ROOT HUBS.
SHUT DOWN, turn off computer and leave it off for 3-5 minutes.
power it back up and allow it to find and install the root hubs again.
when done try your usb devices again.
