On my network, for security reasons, all USB ports are disabled. Recently I
had to re-enable one port to connect an external DVD player. Is there any
way to assocate the MAC address of the DVD player to that USB port? I would
like to configure the port so that if the player is removed and another
device is incerted the other device won't work.

That would be pretty difficult as DVD players don't have MAC addresses,
unless it happened to contain a network adapter. I'm not aware of any that
do, but maybe such devices exist?

How will diabling USB help your network from a security point of view?

As the first answer said, DVD players don't have a MAC address, only
Wireless ccess Points, network adapters, routers, etc., do, so why don't you
just use an internal IDE DVD drive?

I work in a classified area. By disableing the USB ports we prevent people
from using Thumb drives. This is just one of many security steps that have
been taken.
such as all cd burners and A:\ drives are also disabled.

Since it is all government ran, all the computers have internal CD-roms.
They recently purchased a couple external DVD readers for us to install.
