USB Ports and DELL

Guest

I have a DELL Inspiron 5100 laptop.

Running Win XP Home causes no problems but if I install Win XP PRO the DELL
doesn't plug and play USB devices.

I have to shut down and plug them in and re-boot for the OS to recognise them.

I cannot find anything useful on the Internet.

What could this be?

In Device Manager, under the USB Root Hub, and the Power Management tabs,
uncheck the boxes that tell them to go to sleep.
