USB port trouble

i have a problem with the front USB ports of my computer (the ones that comes
with the pc case), they were functioning really nice, but one day i started
on my pc, and connected my flash drive and it did'nt respond, then connected
other usb devices to it, and nothing, i even restarted the pc, i checked the
drivers, and even open the case to see if the usb connections to the
motherboard were loose, but no, everything looks normal.
What can be the problem? maybe some configuration in my Windows XP??

Have you checked the BIOS to see if alll the USB ports are "enabled?"

Are the USB ports listed in Device Management/Manager???

Yes i checked that too, and for me that's even more weird, because all
happened when i started my pc normally, there weren't any modifications (at
least not by the User), and i also used an anty-spyware software and scanned
my pc for viruses, but didn't detect any.

And yes, they appear in the device management list, i tried to update the
driver, but weren't any updates available
