USB port going to sleep

How do I disable the USB port from going to sleep. I have
a dsl line via my USB port and when the system is idle the
port go to sleep and I am then disconnected.

Right-click My-Computer, select Properties.
Click Hardware. Open device manager. Find your
USB network device. Double-click it. Select the
Power tab and clear the "turn this device off to
conserve power" checkbox (or however it's worded.)

Note that some older computers do not properly
manage the USB ports in standby, and if that
is the case this won't help. You can try a BIOS update
for your computer which may fix it.

Also make sure your computer itself isn't set
to go to sleep or standby modes.
