Hello, I am looking for some input reguarding a USB pci card. My USB
ports are 1.1 . I have been told that if I install one of these cards
of the 2.0 variety that my USB ports will function at 2.0 . Is this
true? It sounds to easy to be true. If anyone knows ,or has installed
one of these cards I would like to hear your opinion on this matter.
Thanks in advance for your positive input.

It's as simple as that. 99.9% of the time, Windows will just install
the drivers.

Turn off PC, open case, install card in empty slot, close case, turn on
PC, let Windows detect and install it. Job done.

Try to get one with a NEC chipset.

No, only the ports on the card will be USB2.0 , the old ports will still be
USB1.1 only....

ONLY the USB ports on the PCI card will be USB 2.0. Your original computer
USB ports will still be USB 1.1.
