USB driver needed for mobo help

Hi, I have looked everywhere for a driver for my mobo with google - I have
been to this site for my gigabyte mobo but no good.

I have a GA-7DXE Rev: 3.1 motherboard

I have USB 1.1 connection speed but I need USB 2.0 speeds for a web cam and
USB flash drives.
I dont have the motherboard cd anymore. I could put in a PCI USB 2 add in
card but I would like to get the driver so the two USB ports on the front of
my case will work at USB 2.

According to this, the ports are USB 1.1 .

So installing a USB2 PCI card is your best bet. Depending on
the operating system, USB2 drivers can be built in. In which
case, just plug in the PCI card and test it.

An older OS like Windows 98 may require a little help, when it
comes to USB2.

A driver doesn't solve what you want.

It has 2 USB 2 'in the back' and it has 2 internal (equivalent to your
current 'on the board') so they can go to the front USB.

You'll still need a PCI card but one with an internal connector
(header pins or USB socket) for the case's front USB ports. I think
all the PCI USB 2.0 cards made now are now based on either VIA or NEC
chips. Either is fine, but USB experts prefer NEC. Here are several:

Also NEC and VIA seem to be the only brands of USB 2.0 chips that
support Windows all the way back to version 98, rather than just to
98SE, although the documentation usually wrongly says you need 98SE or
later. VIA provides their driver here:

NEC quit distributing their driver, but it's available from companies

I believe both VIA and NEC require their drivers be installed twice
and the computer rebooted twice and then shut down before the USB 2.0
card can be installed. I had big headaches by plugging in a VIA card
before doing that.

Thanks all, the pc im making is not for me and its as a favour so I cant
spend the little it would cost to buy one so I'll use a different
motherboard like a P4 and do the rebuild once again.
