USB PCI Adapter not recognized

I installed a USB 2.0 PCI adapter and started the Pentium
II 350 system. The adapter was not found as new hardware
by XP Pro on startup. I tried the Add Hardware wizard and
it did not find any hardware to install. I moved the
adapter to another PCI slot with the same results. I
pluged a USB mouse into the board and tried again with the
same results. This computer has an on-board USB 1.1
controller which along with the hub is already installed.
Is there a limit on the number of discrete USB controllers
that can be on the system?

I've not come across any limitation.... I have 6 USB 2.0's on board and 5 on
a PCI card....

I'm not sure why your card isn't being detected though... the only thing I
can think of is that it's a bad card. Have you tried it in another PC?
