USB Parallel Cable

My new laptop with XP doesn't have a parallel port and my
Canon bjc 4200sp printer doesn't have a USB port so I
bought a USB-centronics cable. So now the printer won't
print even though I get a new printer installed message
when I tested a new printer driver and rebooted. I
removed all old drivers. I'm not even sure which port I
should be using - USB virtual or LPT1. Can anyone offer
any advice please?

TIA, Piers

Thanks Sophie. I have tried this and the instructions I
have found say this is the one to use. However, I still
can't get the printer to work even though I have the
latest Canon printer for Win XP.
