USB malfunctioned error without using it

Hi,

I just received the following message error in a Toshiba Notebook:
"A USB device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its
hub port. You should disconnect the device"

The issue is that I have not used any USB port, just have used the DVD
for a movie and put it in stand by, then return and received the
message.

May be it is a hardware problem? the DVD can affect (in terms of
temperature) , or it's a seminormal behaviour?

Thanks,
Sebastian

I suspect you may have an internal card-reader with a buggy
driver, which doesn't respond properly to changing power
management states. Other suspects are addt'l devices
connected to the USB bus, seek a newer driver.
