usb keyboard

I have a compaq usb keyboard (KU9978) which worked fine in windows me, after
installing XP the keys only work before XP boots up. Any help would be
appreciated. Thank you.
 
yes it is enabled, also other usb devices work fine but this keyboard won't
show up
 
Once booted into Win XP remove keyboard and then reinstall. Try to get XP to
initialize after boot up.

Does USB keyboard show up at all in Device Manger?
 
no it does not.. while other usb devices do

Have you tried to install USB keyboard using "Add New Hardware Wizard"?

Do you have another USB keyboard to try in problem computer?

Have you tried this USB keyboard in another computer?
Does it work in it?
 
Compaq USB Keyboard 9978, it has good look, comfort, keys, multimedia
functions and etc.,
