I have a really irritating issue with my USB ports. Whenever I plug an external drive (250GB external hard drive and 1GB flash drive) they will constantly 'lose' their connection whilst I'm transferring data to or from them, and then instantaneously regain the connection. I can usually transfer a few hundred MB of data before this happens so as you can understand I have a lot of things on my external hard drive I want to shift from other PC's onto my main PC but I cannot do it. Firstly I'd like to know if this is a common error and then if there's any way of solving it? I've tried all 5 of the USB ports on my PC and I've tried all kinds of driver updates.
