Hello,
I have just recently bought a casing to make my spare Hard Drive a USB Hard
Drive and it works great under XP Pro. Only thing is, its a bit slow, not
too much of a problem but i'd like it to be faster.
My PC is USB 1.1, so there lies the problem. I have looked into buying a
USB2.0 PCI card, but decided against as i was told i'd have to load Service
Pack 1 or 2 and i didn't want to because my PC works fine as it is and i've
heard people have problems after installing SP1 or 2.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, can i connect my USB HD to my Firewire
(asuming i get an adaptor/cable). The back of the USB HD is a small square
connector (like the one on the back of most USB printers, i.e. smaller and
squarer than USB socket), so if i got a cable with the firewire connector on
one end and the small square USB on the other end, then would that work ??
Or is there an adapter which will fit onto the end of the USB end which will
connect to my Firewire, and will that work ??
Any issues with this setup ??
Cheers
Andy
