Hello i have usb2 freecom 80gb harddrive.

Everything was working fine last night.

But now windows xp will not pick it up at all.

Keeps saying usb device not recogined.

Try up stair pc does the same.

The blue light comes on the harddrive and the mini fan is working.

There alot of data on there aswell.

Still only 6months old from littlewoods.

I was told to ring this number for help, But is,nt littlewoods the one they sold it to me.

So it falls on them.

Any help?

Thanks!

I fear you have a failed drive. :(

However, I would take the drive out of the 'caddy' if it is possible, that may invalidate the warranty, just to be doubly sure.

Your first port of call, under warranty, would be off the people that sold you the item.

Am getting a new one from littlewoods.

But opening the usb harddrive would invalidate the warranty.

Got alot of it on cd-r anyway, just some of the data is lost.

Littlewoods try to pass the buck to freecom, Told them you sold it to me so it falls on them.

It must be broken try it on a second pc got the same thing.

The light comes on and that is all, i can,t hear the harddrive acces at all or see the autorun part like i did before.
