USB handset: sounds come out of wrong device

I have a DORO USB phone handset. Windows seems to use this as the default
sound device for system sounds. If I go to the Control Panel and change
this on the "Sound", it goes back to my PC sound card, but I still get
sounds coming out of my handset at times (eg. at login). If I remove and
reinset my handset, the sounds start coming out of the handset again.

How do I guarantee that all sounds come out of my PC sound card?

Robert,

In Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices, you need to select the 'Audio'
tab at this point, not 'Sounds'. Inside 'Audio' under the headings 'Sound
Playback', 'Sound Recording' & 'MIDI Music Playback', select your sound card
as the defaults for these. For example, my default is 'nVidia SB Live'.

Thanks. I made a typo when I said "Sound" - I have used "Audio" in the
"sounds and audio devices" dialog. I have done what you suggest but I still
have the problem.

Any other suggestions?

Robert.
