USB / Firewire front bay

Hi all,

I'm looking for a 5.25 front bay with 4 x USB 2.0 & 2 x 1394 firewire slots,
preferably with internal connections. Does such a product exist? Would
prefer to buy within the UK but would consider from elsewhere if cost not
too prohibitive.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

The product consists of a PCI card and a drive bay component.
There are two versions of the product, one with a white bezel
and the other with a black bezel (different part number).

The PCI card consists of a PCI bridge chip, a NEC USB chip,
and a VIA Firewire chip. NEC USB 2.0 chips are recommended
for USB (while an ALI USB chip would be my last choice).
The VIA chip is probably OK, but TI or Agere would be other
choices.

The PCI card in the Koutech product, connects to the drive
bay component, with a ribbon cable. So assembly should go
quickly, without any need to know about pinouts.

The first sentence of your original post stated:

Since FrontX doesn't carry the 18 pin internal block connector for dual
firewire ports, does your motherboard have 2 separate internal 10 pin
firewire connectors (FrontX carries these)?

I checked this out a few weeks ago myself. The separate pricing for each
and every component makes it awful expensive for the final result.

Yes Jonny my MB does have these and yes it does work out a bit pricey but
it's no more than I was prepared to pay to get the right article. I'd
"googled" for hours yesterday trying to find what I wanted so now I'm quite
happy )

Thanks for your input
