Has anyone had problems with USB devices not working in Vista? I'm using
Vista Ultimate and I have tried several different USB Drives and it wants to
load a driver but it cannot find one. I have no problems with these drives
under XP. Can anyone give me some help with this one?

Thanks,
Marcus

As you have Vista Ultimate, it is more likely that you have tried installing
it yourself, unsuccessfully. Look in Device Manager. Are there any
unrecognised devices? Have you installed the motherboard drivers?

This fix was reported successful for that by one thread here:

1. Locate the file INFCACHE.1 in C:\Windows\inf
2. Right click on the INFCACHE.1 file, select Properties >Security > Edit,
and give your account full control.
3. Delete INFCACHE.1 (Or rename it to INFCACHE.1.BAK )
4. REBOOT

Vista has major problems with USB. I have battled with these problems for
six months. If you are inflicted (and not everybody is) there seems to be no
reliable fix, except to bin the OS.
